PE Days
Our PE days are on Tuesday and Thursday. The children should come into school with their full PE kit on and can wear their Ss. Mary and John jumpers or cardigans over their kits on these days. During winter months’ children are able to wear long black jogging bottoms.
Homework Expectations
- Homework will be set on Fridays to be handed back at the latest the following Thursday. There will be a maths, reading and SPAG task each week.
- Spellings will be handed out on Monday and the spelling tests will take place on Thursday. The spellings will also be available on the Purple Mash blog page.
- Reading diaries should be handed in on Friday to allow time to change reading books in time for Monday. Children are also encouraged to read other books over the weekend as reading is a vital skill.
All children will be given their own TT Rock stars login to access at home to practice in preparation for their weekly times tables test which will take place on Wednesdays.
Our Learning

Our Saints
Saint Clare of Assisi
Mary 5’s class saint is Clare of Assisi, a kind and brave woman who lived in Italy over 800 years ago.
She followed Saint Francis and gave up her wealth to help the poor and live a simple life. She started a group called the Poor Clares and spent her life praying, helping others, and showing love to God.

Saint Clare of Assisi
Saint Jude Thaddeus
John 5’s class saint is Jude Thaddeus, one of Jesus’ twelve apostles.
He travelled to tell people about Jesus and helped many find hope and faith. He is known as the patron saint of lost causes and people pray to him when they feel things are really difficult.
