Year 2
Welcome to Year 2.
We aim to provide a happy and secure learning environment where all children are encouraged to try their best and reach their full potential. We ensure that the classrooms are an exciting and stimulating place to be, which motivates them to work hard and achieve highly whilst having fun.
The class teachers are Miss Cross and Mrs Wilkinson with support from Miss Norman and Mrs Rogers.
PE is on a Tuesday and Thursday. Children are asked to come to school on these days wearing their full PE kit. This includes a red t-shirt or red polo shirt, black shorts or jogging bottoms and trainers. Children should still wear their school jumper or cardigan on this day and no jewellery (including stud earrings) should be worn.

Our Saints
Saint Teresa of Calcutta
John 2’s class saint is St. Teresa of Calcutta, widely known as Mother Teresa.
She dedicated her life to serving people who were poor, sick, lonely and in need. She founded the Missionaries of Charity and spent many years caring for people who were often forgotten by society. Mother Teresa believed that every person has dignity because every person is loved by God. She encourages us to notice people who need our help and to show compassion through simple acts of love and service.

Saint Bernadette
Mary 2’s class saint is Saint Bernadette Soubirous, who was born in Lourdes, France, in 1844.
When she was a young girl, she experienced a series of apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary at a grotto near Lourdes. During these apparitions, Mary asked people to pray and to turn towards God. Bernadette remained humble despite the attention surrounding her experiences and later became a religious sister. St Bernadette reminds us to have faith, to pray and to trust God, even when we face difficulties.
