Nursery

Welcome to our Nursery. Mrs Nicholson is the class teacher and Miss Sharp is the teaching assistant.

Hello, my name is Mrs Nicholson and I am the Nursery teacher at SSMJ.  I have been teaching for 25 years. I love to see the children grow in confidence and ability during their time in Nursery, ready for Reception and Key Stage 1.  In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, gardening, watching TV and reading.

Every child deserves the best possible start in their education and through parental and teacher support they can fulfil their potential.

In Nursery we learn through play. Play is an essential component of children’s lives. Through play children learn about themselves, their environment and the world around them. Play helps to develop important skills such as problem solving and turn taking. In addition to this, adults provide well planned activities that are exciting and engaging and that fully take into account the needs and abilities of the children. Nursery children have access to a range of different activities that promote and develop basic skills

Our class saint is The Holy Family.
