Our Saints
Saint Martin de Porres
Mary 3’s class saint is St. Martin de Porres, a kind man from Lima, Peru, born in 1579. His mother was a freed slave, and his father was a Spanish nobleman. Growing up poor, Martin always helped others, especially those in need.
At 12, Martin learned to be a barber and helped care for the sick. When he was 15, he joined the Dominican Order, doing humble tasks like cleaning and helping the poor. He treated everyone with kindness, no matter their background.
Martin loved animals and cared for them too. He founded an orphanage and helped many people in Lima. He is remembered for his love, kindness, and care for all.

Saint Martin de Porres
Saint Rose of Lima
John 3’s class saint is St. Rose of Lima – a kind and loving lady from Lima, Peru. She was born on April 20, 1586, and her real name was Isabel. People started calling her ‘Rose’ because she was as beautiful as a rose.
Even though many people wanted her to get married, Rose wanted to spend her life helping others and praying. She worked hard to help her family by gardening and sewing. She also cared for sick people and poor children in her home.
Rose loved Jesus very much. She spent a lot of time praying and helping others. She is remembered for being kind and loving to everyone.
