Our Saints
Saint Oscar Romero
John 3’s class saint is St. Oscar Romero – a Catholic bishop in El Salvador who became a strong voice for people experiencing poverty, injustice and violence.
He used his position to speak publicly about the suffering of ordinary people and called for peace and respect for human dignity. His commitment to standing alongside vulnerable people eventually cost him his life when he was assassinated while celebrating Mass in 1980. St Oscar Romero reminds us of the importance of courage, justice, peace and standing up for those whose voices are not always heard.

Saint John Bosco
Mary 3’s class saint is St. John Bosco, also known as Don Bosco, who was an Italian priest who dedicated his life to helping children and young people, particularly those who were poor or living in difficult circumstances.
He believed that young people should be supported through kindness, education, encouragement and faith rather than fear or punishment. He founded the Salesian order, which continues his work with young people around the world. St John Bosco reminds us that every child is precious, has talents to share and deserves opportunities to flourish.
