Our PE days are Tuesday and Thursday. We send P.E kits home every half
term to be washed. Pleas ensure that your PE kit is in for every PE lesson and
has your name clearly written in it.
Your child’s reading book will be changed once a week.
Please read at home with your child as often as possible and make a note in their planner.
Please send your book bag to school every day.
In preparation for children's SAT's tests at the end of year two, please ensure that you are
reading with your child regularly and asking them questions to make sure they fully
understand what they are reading.
Home-learning is always linked to the learning we have done that week. It is
given out every Friday in homework books. It must be returned by the following
Wednesday so that it can be marked and sent back to you.
SATs are tests administered by primary schools in England to children in Year 2 and Year 6 to gauge their educational progress.
In KS1 (Year 2), children will sit official SATs during May in:
We generally try to keep the testing procedure as informal as possible and are usually taken in a normal classroom situation to keep the pressure off children.
SATs will help both parents and teachers to gauge the progress that a child is making. This enables teachers to identify areas where a child may need additional help, and then arrange for this help to be provided.
We do a lot of preparation throughout the year to prepare children for their SATs test and everything that will come up on the papers will have been covered in Year 2. Therefore, there is nothing for parents or pupils to worry about.
If you would like you help your child further with their SATs preparation, there are great resources and games on the following websites:
